To two violins

Saturday June 11th(21.00) at Church of S. Maria Assunta in Vicobellignano,“A due violini”, Sonatas, Serenades and Nocturnes by Antonio Vivaldi and Andrea Zani, performed by violinists Alessandro Ciccolini And Domenico Scicchitano from the Compagnia de Violini which will give life to a journey through the harmonic and melodic potential of two identical instruments. Thanks to the continuous interchange between the two musicians, the musical result will be varied and daring. In the musical writing without basso continuo, uncommon in the Baroque period except for didactic purposes, the link between the two composers proposed in this concert is particularly intense: Andrea Zani and Antonio Vivaldi.

The performance is linked to a fervent work of philological reconstruction and the search for a historically informed violin technique. The instruments, strings and strings are faithful reconstructions of what would commonly be found in Venice between the 1720s and 1740s, with the aim of offering the listener a vivid experience of the Venetian violin reality of the time.
